Handblown Bowl · Baltic Sea Glass, Bornholm (2001)
There are pieces that feel alive in the light, and this bowl is one of them. Handblown on Bornholm in 2001, it carries the unmistakable spirit of Baltic Sea Glass — organic, tactile, quietly dramatic.
The glass is worked in deep ruby tones, pulled and feathered into swirling lines that move like underwater currents. Turn it in your hands and the color shifts from shadow to glow; place it in a beam of daylight and the entire form seems to breathe.
Signed “J + H · 2001 · B&G Bornholm dk”, this is a studio piece made by two of the workshop’s glassblowers during the early 2000s, when Baltic Sea Glass was at its creative height. The small amber foot adds a subtle warmth, lifting the bowl just enough to let the light pool beneath it.
Perfect as a sculptural object, a slow-living everyday bowl, or as part of a growing collection of Danish studio glass.
