Characterful Danish wooden dining chairs dating approximately from the 1940s–50s.
One chair retains its original period dealer/workshop label from Fr. Adolphsen & Søn, Storegade 11, Haderslev – Møbler, Tæpper, Gardiner. The long-established Haderslev furniture firm was founded in 1891 and operated its own furniture workshop/drawing facilities.
Simple and beautifully proportioned construction with curved backrests, solid wooden frames and stretcher bases.
The chairs have been painted during their lifetime and currently have a warm brown finish. Earlier layers of paint are visible underneath. They have attractive signs of age and use, including scratches, chips and general wear to the painted surfaces; please see photographs. Sold in their present condition and not refinished.
